Why this spelling
This romanisation is not the spelling copied letter by letter. It is built from the National Institute of Korean Language’s Revised Romanization, which writes what the word sounds like once the sounds next to each other have changed it.
When you would say it
An ordinary question here, asked the way you would ask about rain. The answer comes back as one of the four words on the previous page.
Where the grade shows up
Two words show up next to the grades. 미세먼지 is the general term, and 초미세먼지 is the finer of the two measures, since 초 is the prefix for “ultra.” When a forecast shows two grades at once, that’s the pair it’s showing.
