Why this spelling
This romanisation is not the spelling copied letter by letter. It is built from the National Institute of Korean Language’s Revised Romanization, which writes what the word sounds like once the sounds next to each other have changed it.
When you would say it
Works for a drink, a side dish, a bowl. Hold up a finger as you say it.
The word that comes after the number
Korean rarely lets a number stand on its own when you’re counting. The number takes a word after it that says what kind of thing is being counted, the way English says "two sheets of paper" instead of "two papers". Korean does it for everything, and picking the wrong one is a small error that never stops the sentence.
