Why this spelling
This romanisation is not the spelling copied letter by letter. It is built from the National Institute of Korean Language’s Revised Romanization, which writes what the word sounds like once the sounds next to each other have changed it.
When you would say it
Learn this one. It turns an awkward moment into a friendly one, and the answer is often a pose.
Cameras and other people
Korea is wildly photogenic and heavily photographed, but the norm around photographing people is stricter than in many places visitors come from. Short version: landscapes, streets, and food are fair game; recognizable strangers are not.
