Why this spelling

This romanisation is not the spelling copied letter by letter. It is built from the National Institute of Korean Language’s Revised Romanization, which writes what the word sounds like once the sounds next to each other have changed it.

When you would say it

Hold up your phone as you ask. Often the answer is already printed at the bottom of your receipt.

Wifi

Free wifi is easy to find — cafés, stations, public buildings, most places you’d sit down. Treat it as a bonus rather than a plan. The moment you most need a connection is usually the moment you’re standing between two buildings with a map you can’t load, and that is exactly where public wifi isn’t.
