Why this spelling
This romanisation is not the spelling copied letter by letter. It is built from the National Institute of Korean Language’s Revised Romanization, which writes what the word sounds like once the sounds next to each other have changed it.
When you would say it
For shoes, say 신어 봐도 돼요 (sineo bwado dwaeyo) instead. Some market stalls will say no, and that is about the stall, not about you.
The numbers on the label
Shoe sizes are the easy half. The number on the box is the length of the foot in millimeters, usually in steps of five: 240, 245, 250 and so on. Measure your foot once before you fly and the whole system becomes readable.
